Seasonal liturgies that mark the rhythm of the year at Grace.
Second Sunday of every month, 10:30 am. Our 10:30 am service is replaced with our Discovery Service — an instructive service created especially with children in mind. It is shorter and simplified, and explains how and why our services are structured the way they are. It’s perfect for our younger parishioners and for anyone who is curious about the order of service.
In honor of St. Francis Day, our furry, feathered and scaly friends join us at church to receive a blessing. We also bless the collars and photos of our more shy pets.
Our main services are held on Christmas Eve. We have a 4:00 pm service and a 10:00 pm vigil service with caroling beginning at 9:30 pm. On Christmas morning, we have a simple meditative service with no music. It can be a wonderful place of reflection for anyone who is feeling overwhelmed by the holiday season.
In the week leading up to Easter, we celebrate the Triduum, meaning “three days.” We begin with Maundy Thursday, a service with foot washing, Eucharist, and stripping of the altar. On Good Friday we walk the Stations of the Cross followed by an evening service with a meditation on the Cross. On Holy Saturday, we begin Easter Vigil in candlelight, tell the story of our salvation, renew our baptismal vows, and celebrate the first Eucharist of Easter.
Each June, we celebrate God’s love for our LGBTQ+ siblings. Our service is filled with special inclusive hymns and prayers reminding us all that love comes in many forms and that all of those forms are a reflection of God in the world. The service is followed by a festive, rainbow-filled coffee hour.
Dates and times for special services are posted on our events page and in the weekly e-newsletter.
