Liturgical Ministry

Our worship is at the center of our community life. It takes many hands to make that worship happen each Sunday.

Serve on Sundays

Join a Liturgical Ministry

We invite you to consider growing in your own faith life and connecting to God and the community in a new way by joining one of our Liturgical Ministries.

Altar Guild

Members of the Altar Guild are the behind-the-scenes heroes of the church. They set up the bread, wine, and everything else that goes on the altar and then clean up after services. It is a meditative ministry because most of the work is done in the quiet of the empty church.

Bread Bakers

Our Bread Baking ministry makes sure that all can partake in the Body of Christ by baking delicious loaves of gluten-free bread that we use in our Eucharist services. Baggies of our gluten-free flour mixture and bread recipes are located in the parish hall to make this an easy and kid-friendly ministry to participate in.

Ushers

Ushers are the ministers of the welcome that Grace is famous for. They greet people at the door, hand out bulletins, collect the offering, and direct people to communion.

Acolytes

The Acolyte Ministry is the perfect place for anyone who likes to be up close and personal to the action in our Sunday services. Acolytes carry the cross and torches, set the table for communion, and assist the clergy in keeping the service running smoothly. All adults and children 8 and older are welcome to be Acolytes.

Lectors

This is the ministry for the performers out there. Our lectors bring the words of the Bible alive by speaking them aloud for the congregation during our services.

Prayers of the People Leaders

Leaders of the Prayers of the People stand up during our services and help our congregation to pray for the needs of the world and the personal concerns of our community, including those who are sick or have died.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

Our Lay Eucharistic Ministers love to serve their fellow parishioners. During the distribution of communion, they fill the cups of wine and juice and offer them to the people, saying “the blood of Christ, the cup of salvation.”
